Barcelona reach agreement to sign Ghana star on permanent deal | OneFootball

Barcelona have already signed two forwards for the first team, and they are also strengthening that department further down the ranks. Jesse Bisiwu is set to arrive from Club Brugge, and imminently, a deal to retain the services of Abdul Aziz Issah will also be finalised.

Issah initially joined Barcelona on loan from Dreams FC in 2024, and that agreement was extended by an additional year last summer. He made a prominent role for Barca Atletic during the 2025-26 season as he registered four goals and an assist in 20 appearances in the Segunda Federation, and his performances have been enough to convince the club that he deserves to remain in Catalonia.

As per Sport, an agreement has been reached between Barcelona and Dreams FC for Issah to remain at the Catalan club on a permanent basis. The 20-year-old has already travelled back to Spain in order to finalise the move, although he is still waiting for official confirmation – which also means that he cannot yet train.

Flick will decide whether Issah trains with senior squad

Upon being confirmed as Barcelona’s latest signing, the decision will be made about whether he steps up to the first team or continues with Barca Atletic. Hansi Flick will make the call on whether he wants to personally oversee the Ghana international, which could include using him during the upcoming pre-season fixture schedule in England.

But even if Flick gives the go-ahead, Issah is unlikely to cement a permanent place in the first team fold – for now. Barcelona would prefer to loan him out to a club in a higher level than the fourth tier of Spanish football – where Barca Atletic currently reside – although it is not ruled out that he continues with the subsidiary for another season, which would also allow him chances to earn a promotion to the senior squad.
