La Liga giants Barcelona have tonight been dealt a fresh blow on the personnel front.
This comes after Iñigo Martínez was forced into a premature departure from the Blaugrana’s showdown with arch rivals Real Madrid.
Hansi Flick’s troops are of course currently locked in action, with the first major silverware of the Spanish calendar on the line in the Supercopa finale.
And though Barca find themselves in control of things when it comes to the scoreline, they have also been dealt an untimely injury blow.
Early in proceedings at King Abdullah Sport City, the aforementioned Iñigo Martínez pulled up with what appeared to be a muscular problem.
The veteran stopper subsequently limped out of the clash with the help of the Barcelona medical team, replaced in Hansi Flick’s XI by Ronald Araújo.
Amid ongoing speculation surrounding the future of Araújo in Catalunya’s capital, it now remains to be seen if Iñigo is set for any kind of extended spell on the sidelines.
