Sunday’s El Clasico could be decided by moments of quality, and both Real Madrid and Barcelona have plenty at their disposal. For the home side, they have a certain Kylian Mbappe in their ranks, who is arguably the best striker in the world right now.
Mbappe has made a flying start to the season, although his head coach Xabi Alonso still wants more from him. In La Liga alone, he has 10 goals in nine appearances, and he will be keen to add to that tally at the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend.
Mbappe will be hoping to beat Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, whom he has done well against in the past – most recently, last season when he scored five goals in the four matches (three vs Szczesny). And ahead of their next meeting, the Polish veteran acknowledged the quality of the Real Madrid number 10, as per Eleven Sports (via MD).
“I don’t fear him, but there is a lot of respect. I think Kylian is currently one of the best players in the world, if not the best, and he is a constant threat in front of goal. It’s clear that he has a gift with me as well, I don’t think anyone has come close to scoring so many goals against me, and we’ve only played five games against each other, so it’s a great compliment to the quality of this player.”

Since returning to the line-up in place of the injured Joan Garcia, Szczesny has yet to keep a clean sheet. He’ll have his work cut out to end that streak against Real Madrid, and Mbappe will pose the biggest threat to his chances of conceding zero goals, but if he could pull this off, it would give Barcelona a great opportunity for another El Clasico victory.
