Barcelona star rejects contract renewal offer | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has knocked back a contract renewal proposal from the club.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who highlight Andreas Christensen as the Blaugrana star in question.

Stopper Christensen is for his part currently due to see his terms in Catalunya’s capital come to an end in the summer.

Still held in high regard by Hansi Flick and his staff, negotiations over a renewal have in turn long been ongoing between the Dane’s entourage and the Camp Nou brass.

As much recently gave rise to an offer on the part of the latter, based on a one-year deal featuring a heavily reduced salary, and an option for a 2nd season.

The terms, however, were not deemed agreeable by Christensen, who informed his camp to knock the proposal back.

The former Chelsea man also made clear, though, that Barcelona remain his priority, keen for middle ground to be found to ensure that his Blaugrana adventure continues into next season.
