Barcelona star sparks panic after leaving warm-up vs Mallorca early | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona were on Saturday evening forced into a moment of momentary panic.

This came upon summer signing Joan García departing the warm-up for the club’s season opener with a wrist issue.

Barcelona are of course primed to return to action in short order.

Kicking the defence of the club’s La Liga title into gear, the Blaugrana have made the trip to Son Moix, for a meeting with RCD Mallorca.

Hansi Flick, as expected, called upon a strong XI for the clash, featuring the likes of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and the aforementioned Joan.

As alluded to above, however, with kick-off fast approaching, the latter of this trio sparked concern across the Barca staff and beyond.

This came upon Joan, whilst being put through his paces in the warmup, suddenly pulling up with a problem in his hand.

After being tended to by the visitors’ medical team at Son Moix, the shot-stopper was ultimately given the green light to continue, but it remains to be seen if the issue causes Joan any further discomfort over the course of the 90 minutes this evening.
