Bayern insider reacts to rumour ‘brilliant’ Manchester United player is now a top target for Munich | OneFootball

Bayern Munich are not interested in trying to sign Diogo Dalot for the summer transfer window, reports Christian Falk.

The reigning Bundesliga champions have clear priorities in mind for the right-back position, like Feyenoord’s Givairo Read.

The Manchester United fullback’s current contract is set to expire in the summer of 2028.

Bayern are not interested in Dalot at this current stage, with it indicated that the Portuguese defender is not high up on the club’s shortlist.

“It is NOT TRUE: Bayern Munich are interested in Manchester United right-back Diogo Dalot,” the head of BILD exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.

“Bayern have a list with many, many players on it. Of course, they know the player, but at the moment, they don’t have the money for such a move.

“They have a clear plan for the defence, and they are searching additionally for offensive options. The biggest fee will go to the offensive line – they’re searching for a player behind Luis Diaz.

“Every other target is parked in the back until they know what they’re going to do with the position.”

Meanwhile, the Bavarians do need to plan for the future higher up the pitch.

Yan Diomande is, of course, highly coveted by many European outfits, including Bayern, but the price tag (thought to potentially exceed €100m) will prove excessive.

But there is surely an understudy to Luis Diaz available for a far more palatable fee than RB Leipzig’s remarkable 19-year-old.

It seems highly unlikely at this point that FC Bayern will look to sign the ‘brilliant’ Dalot in the summer, particularly when they already have a clear candidate in mind for the right-back spot.

That said, there’s nothing to stop the Red Devils from doing the inverse and snapping up a player from the Allianz Arena.

One obvious choice would be midfielder Leon Goretzka, who will be a free agent after the 2025/26 season.

Premier League leaders Arsenal, along with city rivals Tottenham, are understood to be interested. However, it wasn’t so long ago that United were also heavily linked with the German international’s services.
