Wolves midfielder Jean-Ricner Bellegarde faces a number of weeks out after a training ground hamstring injury. He returned last week after World Cup duty with Haiti.
Director of performance Phil Hayward said Bellegarde felt the problem during a weekend session. An MRI showed a fairly high grade injury to his left hamstring, with a few weeks expected before he is back on the grass.
He had been at the World Cup with Haiti and was eased back after returning last week. One movement in training triggered the problem, despite a programme that included three weeks off and a week of conditioning which he completed.
He suffered a similar hamstring issue on the opposite side last December. As this is not the same area, recovery should be quicker than if scar tissue were involved, though it is still unwelcome.
Workload management is challenging after a long season and a World Cup with limited rest. With the season starting in two weeks, Wolves will manage the risk and focus on getting him back as quickly as they can.
Fer Lopez, who missed the Maidenhead and Real Sociedad friendlies with a minor groin issue, has trained this week and will be available for the final two friendlies this summer. Adam Armstrong should continue to be available after a calf knock.
