On 4 April, Botafogo launched legal action against Olympique Lyonnais seeking €125 million linked to player transfers. OL have made clear they will not respond.

According to ESPN, people around the case said the lawsuit made no sense, arguing the money moved within the Eagle group rather than OL's accounts, and that the loans and transactions were from Textor to Textor.

The disputed sum relates to deals for players, including Igor Jesus, who never wore an OL shirt.

This latest move by the American businessman does not appear appropriate.

In any case, the proceedings could take an indeterminate amount of time.
