Coventry have completed the permanent signing of goalkeeper Carl Rushworth from Brighton, with the newly promoted Premier League side retaining last season’s loanee. The deal is Brighton’s biggest sale in their history.
The transfer is valued at around €30 million, with up to €5 million in bonuses, according to The Athletic.
Rushworth, 25, spent last term with the Sky Blues in the Championship, winning the Golden Glove after 17 clean sheets in 46 league matches.
Coventry, managed by Frank Lampard, moved to keep him and opened talks over a permanent move in June. The contract length has not been disclosed, but it is a long-term agreement.
A Halifax Town graduate, Rushworth joined Brighton in 2019 and did not make a first-team appearance. He later had loans at Lincoln City, Swansea and Hull City before his Coventry spell.
