Brighton & Hove Albion travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday with their confidence restored after a stunning 6-0 Carabao Cup victory in midweek.
That result was a welcome boost for Fabian Hurzeler’s side, who have struggled for consistency in the Premier League this season and currently sit 14th in the table.
The Seagulls will be looking to improve on a poor away record that has seen them lose their last two league games on the road. They have a good recent head-to-head record against Chelsea, winning three of the last six meetings. However, their defensive frailties, having kept just one clean sheet in 17 league games, will be a major concern against a strong Chelsea attack.
Fabian Hürzeler has received a significant fitness boost ahead of this weekend’s match. He welcomes back four players who have recovered from minor injuries. In midfield, Mats Wieffer is available again, while Maxim De Cuyper returns to bolster the options at full-back. Furthermore, forwards Brajan Gruda and Yankuba Minteh are both fit and in contention to feature.
However, the manager is still without three players due to injury. Jack Hinshelwood remains on the sidelines. Adam Webster and Solly March also join him on the long-term absentee list.
Brighton predicted XI: Verbruggen; Veltman, Dunk, Van Hecke, De Cuyper; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, Gomez, Mitoma; Rutter.
The Premier League fixture will be played at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, 27 September 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 pm BST.
The match will not be broadcast live in the UK due to the 3:00 pm Saturday blackout.
