CAF Cup: Historic qualification for AS Otohô
Association Sportive Otohô has qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals for the first time in its history. The club from the Republic of Congo achieved this remarkable feat with a commanding 3-0 victory over South Africa’s Stellenbosch on Sunday, February 8, during the fifth matchday.
They have made history by reaching the CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals for the first time. Thanks to a goal from Exaucé Nzaou (38') and a brace from Klégnimé Koné (43' and 80'), AS Otohô overpowered Stellenbosch.
This triumph, combined with CR Belouizdad’s 1-0 win in Tanzania against the Singuida Black Stars, ended all suspense and secured qualification for the club, which has been crowned champions of Congo Brazzaville six times.
Currently second in the standings with 9 points, AS Otohô will aim to claim top spot in Group C when they face group leaders CR Belouizdad in Algeria on the final matchday.
