Callum Wilson has confirmed his Newcastle United decision.

An official release  (see below) from the football club on Monday announcing he has said goodbye.

A striker who five years ago chose Newcastle United over Aston Villa, even though Mike Ashley and Steve Bruce were in charge at the time.

Along with Allan Saint-Maximin, Callum Wilson a bit of light into those very dark days.

Plus of course, it was Callum Wilson with 18 Premier League goals in 21 Premier League appearances (plus 10 as a sub) who helped fire United to fourth place and Champions League football in the 2022/23 season.

It’s time to say goodbye after an unbelievable few years in the Toon.

Thank you for everything. We stood strong together through the highs and some lows to help the club experience new heights.

I am so proud to have worn the iconic number 9 shirt and to have added a little more history to it. Scoring at the Gallowgate End really is as special as they say.

All good things come to an end but there’s no doubt Newcastle United will always have a place in mine and my families hearts.
