Villarreal’s training camp in Italy paused for the squad’s traditional bonding dinner and karaoke, a welcome breather amid intense sessions and the Como Cup 2026.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, players and staff enjoyed a relaxed evening after a full day, using it to ease newcomers in and strengthen dressing-room ties.

As is custom, senior figures acted as hosts and called up those yet to take this initiation. Sergi Cardona served as captain for the karaoke during the camp in Italy.

The standout performers were Sergi Cardona, one of the captains, Georges Mikautadze, Santiago Mouriño, Tani Oluwaseyi, Alassane Diatta and Diallo Moussa. The first four were in last season’s squad, though they still owed a turn on the mic.

Academy pair Alassane Diatta and Diallo Moussa are on their first summer with the senior group and accepted the challenge. All six briefly swapped studs for songs and steps, drawing applause, with Pape Gueye energising the room as Iñigo Pérez and his staff laughed.

The karaoke night has become a hallmark of Villarreal’s pre-seasons, and behind the humour sits a clear aim of cohesion. It helps new arrivals break the ice and young players shed early nerves.

That matters on a camp where the squad are together almost 24 hours a day, with training, meals and meetings filling a demanding routine, time for camaraderie is vital.

The evening showed a spontaneous side to a group still grafting in Italy to be ready for the season. It also underlined bonds they will carry into the new campaign.
