Barcelona will welcome Elche at the Estadi Olímpic this Sunday as they look to secure all three points at home in La Liga. The Catalan giants suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Real Madrid recently, so they would be eager to get back to winning ways this weekend.

Hansi Flick will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make one change to his first team for this game. Marc Casado could play from the start of this contest versus Elche.

Defence

Wojciech Szczesny will play in between the sticks for Barcelona after he conceded two goals in his last outing. Pau Cubarsi will continue to function alongside Eric Garcia at the centre of Flick’s defence as they hope to keep the opposition attackers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.

Jules Kounde will try to catch the eye as the right-back, while Alejandro Balde hopes to give a good account of himself on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent’s half.

Ronald Araujo will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Frenkie de Jong and Marc Casado will anchor the midfield for Barcelona as they look to set the tempo of the game at the centre of the park and create some decent chances for their teammates up top.

The gifted trio of Marcus Rashford, Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal will function just ahead of them as part of the Barca attack. All three of them need to be at their best if the Catalan giants are to secure a convincing win this weekend.

Marc Bernal and Roony Bardghji will have to be content with a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Ferran Torres will lead the line for Barcelona up top. He would have to find a way to be a constant menace in front of the Elche goal.

Dro Fernandez will make up the numbers on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if needed.
