Aston Villa faced off against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Villans made a solid start to the game and found themselves at a numerical advantage in the 33rd minute when Reinildo Mandava was sent off by the referee. The two teams went into the half-time break with a goalless scoreline.

Matty Cash scored the opener for Aston Villa in the 67th minute. However, Wilson Isidor equalised for the home team just eight minutes later. The contest finished with Unai Emery’s men being held to a lackluster 1-1 draw away from home.

Martinez made a few solid saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet this afternoon.

He performed his defensive duties well and was a threat going forward. Cash managed to get his name on the scoresheet in the 67th minute.

CB: Ezri Konsa – 6.5/10

He cleared the danger when he could, but would not be pleased about conceding in the second half.

CB: Tyrone Mings – 7.5/10
