Aston Villa faced off against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Villans made a solid start to the game and found themselves at a numerical advantage in the 33rd minute when Reinildo Mandava was sent off by the referee. LB: Lucas Digne – 6/10

Digne struggled to get a foothold in the game and was replaced in the 57th minute.

CM: John McGinn – 6.5/10

He was a positive influence at both ends of the pitch but failed to threaten the opponent’s goal.

CM: Boubacar Kamara – 7/10

Kamara anchored the midfield well and managed to secure an assist.

RW: Evann Guessand – 6.5/10

He came back to defend when needed but offered very little in the final third.

CAM: Morgan Rogers – 6/10

Rogers made two key chances in the final third but never looked like he would score.

LW: Emiliano Buendia – 6/10

He caught the eye at times but failed to register a goal.

ST: Ollie Watkins – 6/10

Watkins worked hard but failed to trouble the Sunderland keeper.
