Castellón beat Leganés 2-0 with a controlled, high-energy display that underlined their balance across the pitch.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the back line impressed. Matthys was alert and clean under the high ball. Mellot shut down his flank and almost created a goal with a whipped cross.

Brignani was key at the dead ball for the opener and looked increasingly confident in possession. Lucas Alcázar covered ground and corrected his one slip. Diego Barri set the tempo, with Gerenabarrena tireless and tidy.

Mabil was not always tidy in transition but produced a superb, difficult finish for 1-0. Cala generated chances at will, delivered the free-kick for that goal and drew the penalty for the second, earning a warm ovation.
