CD Castellón head to Estadio de La Rosaleda on Saturday under heightened alert after five arrests, with one person hospitalised, following pre-match clashes before Almería v Málaga.
The LaLiga Hypermotion fixture at Málaga CF kicks off at 21.00 on Saturday 25 April 2026 in the 37th round, a key date in the races for automatic promotion and the play-offs. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the weekend disorder unfolded around Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos.
The Almería v Málaga game had been designated high risk, so the operation was reinforced with UIP riot police and aerial support. Authorities had pre-identified the most conflict-prone individuals, enabling swift detentions. Case files are due to be processed this week before the five detainees appear in court.
The most tense scenes came by the South End roundabout as the teams’ buses arrived, where footage showed UIP officers subduing a young man who resisted on the ground.
Officers formed a security perimeter and used batons to hold back a hostile crowd, while private security assisted amid smoke from flares and other pyrotechnics that reduced visibility.
Fans from both clubs became intermingled, the initial festive mood turning to confrontations and panic as people fled the area while glass bottles, plastic containers and stones were thrown. Of those detained, one was taken to hospital by ambulance.
