Estadão reports that the Brazilian Football Confederation will fund travel and accommodation for 40 presidents of Brasileirão Série A and Série B clubs to attend Brazil’s World Cup opener in the United States, with Flamengo president Bap among those travelling.
The club executives are expected to watch only the first game, with the group based in New York.
The CBF will also cover costs for the 27 presidents of Brazil’s state federations, who unlike the club chiefs will attend all three of Brazil’s group matches.
In the group stage, Brazil face Morocco first, then Haiti, before concluding against Scotland.
The Morocco match is scheduled for Saturday 13 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, kicking off at 19:00 Brasília time.
