This time it’s the Celtic Disabled Supporters Association and with their name added to the list that is a full house of supporters organisations who have called out the Celtic board for lack of ambition, failing in the summer transfer window and that dreadful statement that was issued on Saturday evening and has been widely condemned across the Celtic family.

Last night at the supporters meeting at Gracies in the Merchant City many of the Celtic fan media outlets attended including The Celtic Star and collectively they provide a highly significant platform to reach the Celtic support without having to rely on pre-filtered news from the mainstream media. Here is today’s statement from the Celtic Disabled Supporters Association (CDSA) in full. Welcome on board!

Statement from the Celtic Disabled Supporters Association

Following the recent open letter to the Celtic board from numerous supporter organisations and the subsequent votes of no confidence in the Celtic board by the Celtic Supporters’ Association and other fan groups, the Celtic Disabled Supporters Association (CDSA) have conducted a vote of our members. The result of that vote was an overwhelming majority in favour of the statement.

The CDSA wish to join the other Celtic fan groups and to express our profound frustration and disappointment with the current state of affairs at our club. The lack of ambition showing in the transfer market, the failure to address key squad issues, and the tone of the clubs recent public statement have left our members feeling undervalued and unheard. Frankly, the lack of consideration given our members generally at times, and the lacklustre approach to managing our club affairs, have been building for years.

It is with a heavy heart that the Celtic Disabled Supporters Association today formally issues a vote of no confidence in the current Celtic Football Club board of directors.  The members of the CDSA have given the committee a clear mandate to add the CDSA to the list of signatories on the recent open letter sent by the CSA. We stand in solidarity with the growing number of supporter groups who are demanding full transparency, accountability and a change in those who are on the board at Celtic.

Our members and the wider Celtic support are the lifeblood of this great club, and our passion and loyalty is unmatched. We deserve to see a board that shares our ambition and is committed to building a team worthy of our history and our loyalty and support. We are sad that this statement and collective action by the large and growing number of supporters groups in necessary, and we hope that any action taken with compel the board ti finally listen to the voices of the fans.
