The Champions League final between PSG and Arsenal on 30 May in Budapest will not be free-to-air in the UK. It will be available only to TNT Sports subscribers.
According to L'Équipe, it is the first time since 1992 that the showpiece will not be on free-to-air television. It is also Arsenal's second Champions League final.
Since the European Cup was rebranded as the Champions League 34 years ago, the final had been free-to-air, first on ITV from 1992 to 2015, then on TNT Sports without a subscription in the past decade.
This year the broadcaster, owned by Warner Bros Discovery, has confirmed the final will be available on its own platform or on HBO Max, both requiring a subscription.
The same will apply to the other European finals involving English clubs. Aston Villa face Freiburg in the Europa League on Wednesday, and Crystal Palace meet Rayo Vallecano in the Conference League the following week.
From the 2027-28 season TNT Sports will lose rights to all three competitions, with Paramount taking the Champions League and Sky Sports the Europa League and the Conference League.
