In a recent report, Fichajes revealed that Chelsea are showing interest in Barcelona centre-forward Robert Lewandowski. It is believed that the Blues are eyeing a move to bring the veteran Polish striker to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Lewandowski has managed to shine at times with his performances as the focal point of Hansi Flick’s attack this season. The Poland international has found the back of the net 17 times and picked up three assists in 40 appearances for Barcelona this season across all fronts.
The 37-year-old is still performing at a high level for the Catalan club. Therefore, it is no wonder that the Blues are showing interest in recruiting Lewandowski this summer.
His current contract at the Nou Camp will run out at the end of this season, which could open the door for Chelsea to sign him on a free transfer later this year.

Lewandowski excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to create the odd chance for his teammates on the offensive end of the field and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.
The Polish striker can contribute by scoring a handful of important goals for his team. However, Lewandowski has entered the last stage of his playing career and would be a short-term fix to Chelsea‘s goal-scoring concerns. Plus, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the high intensity of the Premier League if the Blues manage to get a deal done for him at the end of this campaign.
We can expect Lewandowski to enhance the quality of the West London club’s frontline in the short term. He is good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at Stamford Bridge next season.
At 37, Lewandowski has only got a year or two left in his locker to play at a high level. Therefore, Chelsea would be wise to try everything they can to get him on board this summer as he would help the Blues challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
