Chelsea are expected to return with a second bid for Sunderland captain Granit Xhaka in the coming days.
New Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso is believed to be driving the move after a successful spell together at Bayer Leverkusen, and Xhaka is said to be keen to reunite before the new Premier League season. Transfermarkt values place Manchester City at €1.39bn, Arsenal €1.31bn, Chelsea €1.288bn and Sunderland €391.18m.
As it stands, Xhaka remains a Sunderland player after an initial £8m offer was rejected, with the club reiterating the Switzerland international is not for sale. Chelsea are expected to return with £10m to £12.5m plus add-ons, still short of the £17.5m Sunderland paid after he won the Bundesliga and German Cup with Leverkusen.
The situation continues to dominate headlines as the window gathers pace, while Sunderland look to strengthen for a first Europa League campaign after finishing seventh in the Premier League. Xhaka played an integral role in that run.
Beyond the leading pair, Liverpool are put at €979.50m, Tottenham at €884.50m and Manchester United at €812.35m. Elsewhere values span from Leeds at €354.00m and Fulham at €310.20m to Ipswich at €200.70m, Coventry at €199.35m and Hull at €71.55m.
