Chelsea have drawn “Hollywood” Wrexham United in the FA Cup fifth round, with the game to be played away in March.

The FA Cup fifth round draw has been made, with Chelsea getting Wrexham away.

After seeing off Hull pretty comfortably on Friday night in the fourth round, the Blues are rewarded with a trip to Wales to face the trendy team in the Championship.

Owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and “Rob Mac”, the Welsh side have risen from non-league to playoff contention in the Championship. Whatever you think of the project, it has been pretty incredible progress.

It continues a run of away draws in the cups this season: as far as we can remember, Lincoln, Hull, Cardiff, Wolves and Charlton were all away from home. Our only home game was in the two legged affair against Arsenal in the EFL Cup semi final.

Still, as draws go, this is a pretty fun one.

Chelsea played Wrexham in preseason two years ago, getting a 2-2 draw as Enzo Maresca prepared for his only season in charge. Since then, they’ve continued their ascent.

People are bending over backwards to try and find nice things to say about Liam Delap’s performance on Friday against Hull, including the crew on the London is Blue podcast.

Chelsea’s xG output this season is superb – but they’re miles behind Arsenal in the table because the Gunners are outstanding in an equally important stat. The Blues need to shape up in that category to catch up.

Mamadou Sarr made his full debut for Chelsea on Friday, but it was pretty interesting to hear some of the comparisons made about him from past teammates.
