Marcus Thuram drove France to a 3-1 friendly win over Colombia, involved in all three goals. Maxence Lacroix impressed on his first start.
Désiré Doué opened the scoring on 30, then Thuram made it 2-0 with a fine header on 41 from Akliouche's cross. Doué added the third on 56 after Juan Cabal's errant pass, before Jaminton Campaz replied on 77. L'Équipe notes that this was the authoritative outing long asked of Thuram, and that Lacroix looked near flawless on debut as a starter.
Akliouche was constantly available and set up Thuram, with Cherki involved in the build-ups to all three goals. Doué's two goals were his first for France, and Thuram's strike was his third for his country.
Kalulu delivered a steady third cap, Hernandez answered doubts over his condition with a robust display, and Digne recovered from a shaky start. Kanté grew into the game after early losses of possession, while Samba had little to do but was assured.
Luis Diaz was Colombia's main threat before his withdrawal on 63, but James Rodriguez and Luis Suarez made little impact. Davinson Sanchez and Daniel Muñoz struggled on the first two goals. Deschamps rotated heavily and can be satisfied with the international break, with Lacroix giving him something to ponder and, fitness permitting, Hernandez on course for the World Cup.
