Valencia are concerned after reserve-team defender Rubén Iranzo left Friday morning’s training session with a knee problem. According to Superdeporte, the 21-year-old, a regular in first-team work under Carlos Corberán, stopped early with significant discomfort.
Mid-session, Iranzo hurt the joint in an unfortunate action, received initial attention from medical staff, then departed immediately. There is worry within the club and around the player about the severity of the issue.
Initial checks have raised fears that his cruciate ligament could be affected, which might end his 2025/26 season. A definitive diagnosis has not been made, and further examinations are required to determine the exact extent.
For now, Iranzo will be unavailable for both the first team and the reserves while he undergoes tests and his condition is monitored. Valencia are hoping the knee ligaments are not damaged.
This season he has featured late on in the 0-1 league win at Getafe, and has played 292 minutes in the Copa del Rey. He started three ties, against Maracena 0-5, Cartagena 1-2 and Burgos 0-2.
