Corinthians and Héctor Hernández in advanced talks over amicable contract termination | OneFootball

Héctor Hernández is expected to leave Corinthians soon, with advanced talks over an amicable termination of his deal, which runs to the end of 2026. According to Globo.com, the agreement is being negotiated between the club and the Spanish forward.

He has been away from first-team training since August last year, a decision by head coach Dorival Júnior. He is not in the manager’s plans.

Corinthians had planned to sell him but no move materialised. As a result, the board and Hernández’s camp began discussing a friendly split that is expected to be finalised soon. The agreement has not yet been formalised or signed.

Once completed, Corinthians estimate savings of more than R$ four million by the end of the year, easing the wage bill. The board have not disclosed whether any payment to the player is included.

Signed in 2024, Hernández made 24 appearances for Timão, scoring two goals and providing two assists. His last outing came on 12 June last year, in the 12th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
