Corinthians end winless run in Itaquera, stay strong vs Mirassol

Corinthians hosted Mirassol on Saturday night, October 4, for the 27th round of the Brasileirão, defeating the state opponent 3 x 0. With the result, Timão maintained a perfect record against the club from the countryside at the Neo Química Arena and ended a home drought in the championship.

Before defeating Leão Caipira, the People's Team had achieved the last victory at the Neo Química Arena, in the Brasileirão, in the classic against Santos, completing seven games without leaving Itaquera with three points. There were draws against Palmeiras, Fortaleza, Cruzeiro and Vitória, with losses to Flamengo, Bahia and Red Bull Bragantino.

To end this drought, the team led by Lucas Silvestre on an interim basis took advantage of the 100% performance against Mirassol at home. With this last one, there were six games played, with six triumphs, scoring 12 goals and conceding only one.

Overall, the numbers of the direct confrontation are also positive. In 16 matches against Mirassol, Corinthians has 11 victories, four draws and only one defeat, with 27 goals in favor and 12 conceded. The only defeat, by the way, occurred in the first meeting between the teams in this Brasileirão.

Now, after hosting Mirassol at home, for the Brazilian Championship, Corinthians remains fully focused on the national competition, but only returns to the pitch on October 15, Wednesday, after the FIFA Date period. At 9:30 pm (Brasília time), Alvinegro will visit Santos, at Vila Belmiro, for the 28th round of the Brasileirão.
