Corinthians supporters have largely come out against extending André Ramalho’s contract to 2027, with a fan poll showing strong opposition.

According to Meu Timao, 73.6% of respondents would not renew the 34-year-old centre-back’s deal, while 26.2% support him staying next season. His contract expires on 31 December this year.

Signed in July 2024, Ramalho arrived to bolster the run-in that kept Corinthians in the Campeonato Brasileiro. He has made 88 appearances, scored two goals and provided one assist. He was involved in the 2025 Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil triumphs, plus the 2026 Supercopa do Brasil.

This season his role has diminished following Gabriel Paulista’s arrival. Once a starter, he is now a bench option and has featured in 15 of the team’s 37 matches in 2026, totalling 1,223 minutes.

Fernando Diniz’s main centre-back options are Gustavo Henrique, Gabriel Paulista and João Pedro Tchoca. He can also use Raniele in defence when required, and Under-20 standout Iago Machado has been named in senior squads.

A separate vote produced a different view on André Carrillo, with 55.6% favouring a renewal and 44.4% preferring he moves on. Others nearing the end of their deals include Fabrizio Angileri, Hugo, Zakaria Labyad, Jesse Lingard and Vitinho.

Corinthians continue preparations during the mid-season break. They face Cascavel in a friendly on 12 July at 16:00 in Paraná, then resume competitive action on 23 July against Remo at 19:30 at Neo Química Arena.
