Botafogo proposed a loan until the end of 2026, with an option to buy at expiry, with Corinthians covering the striker’s salary.

Corinthians view taking on Cabral’s full wages as financially unviable and, on those terms, have ruled out a deal. They would proceed if Botafogo agreed to pay part of his salary.

The São Paulo club are seeking an alternative to Yuri Alberto up front, but still prioritise signing a goalkeeper before the window shuts on 27 March.

Cabral joined Botafogo in June 2025 as one of the reinforcements for the Club World Cup in the United States. Form and injuries have limited his impact since, with 40 appearances, six goals and four assists.

His contract runs to the end of 2028. Botafogo agreed a €15 million deal with Benfica, including fixed fee and bonuses, worth R$ 95 million.
