O Povo reports that Corinthians will pay R$ 1.8 million to Fortaleza for Matheus Pereira’s loan, which runs until the end of 2026, with the amount deductible if a permanent deal follows. The fee will be spread across 10 monthly instalments of R$ 180,000.
UOL says Corinthians could sign the midfielder outright for $2 million, roughly R$ 10.7 million at current rates, once the loan ends. Deducting the loan payments would leave about R$ 9 million to complete a permanent transfer. The clubs have not disclosed figures.
Matheus Pereira’s arrival was also linked to Ryan’s loan to Fortaleza, which includes a purchase option. O Povo adds that Corinthians will cover 100% of the 22-year-old’s wages.
The clubs have additionally moved for goalkeeper João Ricardo, 37, with a loan to be finalised after he recovers from a shoulder injury and completes medical tests in March.
Executive Marcelo Paz said Corinthians are prioritising sensible business, favouring loans or swaps. Deals for right-back Pedro Milans, formerly of Peñarol, and forward Kaio César of Al-Hilal are being lined up on that basis. Defender Gabriel Paulista arrived after terminating his contract with Besiktas of Türkiye.
Announced on Friday, Matheus Pereira is registered and could make his second debut on Sunday. Corinthians host São Paulo at 16:00 at Neo Química Arena in the third round of the Paulistão.
