Corinthians will receive about R$ 2.5 million from Giovane’s Napoli move | OneFootball

Seven months after Giovane left the club, Corinthians will receive about R$ 2.5 million via FIFA’s solidarity mechanism from his move from Hellas Verona to Napoli.

According to Globo.com, the fee agreed between Verona and Napoli is €20 million, around R$ 124.3 million.

As he played for Corinthians between the ages of 18 and 21, the club are entitled to 2% of the transfer value.

Corinthians paid R$ three million to sign him from Capivariano in 2022. They failed to agree a new deal last year, so he left Parque São Jorge on a free.

FIFA’s solidarity mechanism compensates training clubs in international transfers, with up to 5% distributed based on time served.

Giovane made 47 senior appearances for Corinthians, scoring three goals.

In his first season in Italy, he featured 23 times for Verona, scoring three and providing four assists.
