According to Meu Timao, Corinthians endured a day of contrasting fortunes on Wednesday. The women's side reached the final of the inaugural Women's Club World Cup, while the men were beaten in their Brasileiro opener.
In the morning in London at the Gtech Community Stadium, Corinthians faced Gotham FC of the United States in the semi-final. Gabi Zanotti scored late in the second half to seal a 1-0 win.
They will meet Arsenal of England in Sunday's final, scheduled for 15:00 Brasília time.
The win also guaranteed a financial boost. Both finalists will receive at least US$ one million, about R$ five point three million, while the champions will earn an additional US$ one point three million, roughly R$ six point nine million, for a total of US$ two point three million, around R$ twelve point two million.
In the evening, the men's team began the 2026 Campeonato Brasileiro with a 2-1 defeat to Bahia at Vila Belmiro. Breno Bidon scored for Corinthians, while Jean Lucas and Willian José secured the win for the northeastern side.
