Corinthians Women’s full-back on Cruzeiro draw, notes performance

On the morning of this Sunday, the 7th, Corinthians began their quest for a seventh title in the Brazilian Women's Championship. In a match held at Arena Independência, in Belo Horizonte, against Cruzeiro, the Brabas took the lead twice but allowed the equalizer both times, with the final score ending at 2 x 2. The goals for the black-and-whites were scored by Gi Fernandes and Gabi Zanotti.

Right after the end of the match, left-back Tamires, who assisted the goal scored by Corinthians’ number 10, spoke to the competition’s social media, commenting on the result and highlighting the importance of securing a draw away from home. However, she made specific remarks about the team’s performance:

“I think it was important for us to play away from home, to leave here with a draw after all the effort and fight our team put in, but we have to look at the points where we fell short today, because we took the lead twice and couldn’t hold on to the result.”

Tamires continued, projecting the team’s preparation for the return leg against the team from Minas, which will take place this coming Sunday, the 14th, also at 10:30 am (Brasília time) at Neo Quimica Arena. “But now it’s time to rest, clear our heads, look at the important points so that at home we can play good football and get the win,” she concluded.
