On-loan Barcelona star Ansu Fati has not yet given up hope of carving out a place for himself in Hansi Flick’s squad for next season.

This comes amid the understanding that the Spaniard is stalling on committing to a permanent move to AS Monaco.

Wide-man Ansu is for his part fresh off something of a bounce-back season in France.

After linking up with the aforementioned Monaco on a temporary basis, the 23-year-old went on to rack up 30 appearances in all competitions.

And along the way, despite over half of his outings having come from the bench, Ansu found the net on a more than respectable 12 occasions.

The understanding is that the Monaco brass, in turn, are ready to make the former prodigy’s transfer permanent with a view to the 2026/27 campaign.

As alluded to above, though, Ansu himself remains undecided on as much.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of Mundo Deportivo that:

‘The academy graduate, under contract with Barça until 2028, has not yet given his final approval and is still being considered as an option to strengthen the Barça squad.’

Ansu is happy with life at Monaco, but believes that he could still play a role back in Catalunya’s capital.

Barcelona, who are yet to make a final call on Marcus Rashford’s future, have not yet made contact with their on-loan attacker regarding his future.
