The 2026 Coupe de France final may not be staged at the Stade de France, and its date also remains in flux. The showpiece is currently pencilled in for Saturday 23 May, but a relocation has not been ruled out.
Philippe Diallo, president of the FFF, said on Thursday after an executive committee meeting that uncertainty persists over both the venue and the timing. Despite several working meetings since October, no decision has yet been reached.
Two scenarios remain under review, holding the final on Friday 22 May at the Stade de France, with Grand Paris transport works starting the following day, or moving the match outside the Paris region to Lille or Lyon.
The last 32 has just concluded, with RC Lens and Lyon still in the competition. With Lyon also well placed in the Europa League, scheduling complications add to the federation’s equation, which seeks to avoid any perceived advantage.
Should Lyon reach a European final, they would be engaged on Wednesday 20 May, only two days before any potential Coupe de France final in Saint-Denis. Several grey areas remain, so the FFF is not yet ready to decide.
