Inter Milan coach Cristian Chivu spoke to DAZN ahead of tonight’s Serie A meeting with Lazio, underlining the need for focus and collective maturity as the Nerazzurri look to secure three crucial points before the international break.
Facing questions about his players’ response to his midweek criticism after the narrow win over Kairat Almaty, Chivu remained measured, with quotes via FCInterNews.
The Nerazzurri have won their last two games but without their usual confidence.
Tonight, they face a resolute Lazio who have not conceded a goal in their last four games.
“We’ll see tonight. It’s easy to talk about what you see in training, even though we train little when playing every three days, those who don’t play follow a different programme.
“But I’m dealing with a mature group that knows what it wants, that understands both its strengths and its weaknesses, and recognises when things go wrong.”

With Acerbi back in contention and several rotation choices under discussion, Chivu stressed the importance of balance and inclusivity across his squad.
“With 22 players, you have to maintain equilibrium,” he explained.
“In a long, demanding season like ours, everyone is needed. Then there’s the individual management aspect – everyone has to feel involved, and that’s what I’ve tried to do since the start of the season. I’ve had good responses, even from those who have played less.”
“The strength of this group is putting ego aside and understanding that everyone has value and can contribute.
“We work on improving when to press, when to hold, and how important distances are — you can’t just go forward at random, or you’ll expose yourself and suffer.”
