La Liga giants Real Madrid have this week been made aware of one potential avenue towards the signing of midfield transfer target Adam Wharton.
That’s according to Defensa Central, who have on Thursday provided an insight into the situation.
The name of youngster Wharton has of course emerged as an increasingly prominent one in the headlines in Spain’s capital over recent months.
This comes with the talented Englishman understood to have been earmarked as a leading target to reinforce Xabi Alonso’s midfield ranks.
The problem in any deal for Wharton would be the likely massive fee involved, though.
All associated with Real Madrid will in turn no doubt be interested to learn of the possibility of an exchange being put on the table by those in the boardroom at Selhurst Park.
As per a report from Defensa Central:
‘The English club wants Nico Paz in exchange, as he has a similar value, between 70 and 80 million euros.’
Youngster Paz, in the midst of a spectacular stint in Italy with Como, is widely expected to be brought back by Real Madrid next summer.
Palace, in turn, are keen on a swap deal involving the Argentine and Wharton.
The Santiago Bernabéu brass, as things stand, though, have no intention of sanctioning a 2nd exit for Paz.
