Deal with Bayern? Stuttgart still have hope with Nübel | OneFootball

The door for Alexander Nübel at VfB Stuttgart is apparently not yet completely closed. Despite the difficult starting position, the Swabians are still hoping for a deal with FC Bayern – albeit under clear conditions

According to Sport BILD, VfB are banking on Munich not being able to sell the goalkeeper to another club for a profit in the summer, in which case Stuttgart would possibly have a realistic chance of signing Nübel permanently – on financial terms that would be feasible for the club. The 27-year-old is currently still on loan from Bayern and is a regular keeper at VfB

Stuttgart’s hopes are fuelled above all by the complex overall situation. FC Bayern’s goalkeeping plans are largely fixed. In Jonas Urbig, the Munich club have already signed a new keeper who is to be built up as number one in the future or – if Manuel Neuer’s contract is extended – is at least planned as the clear number two. There is no place for Nübel in these scenarios

At the same time, a permanent transfer in the summer is considered difficult. Nübel’s salary and FC Bayern’s transfer fee expectations are above what Stuttgart can currently afford. This is precisely where VfB’s hopes lie: if Bayern cannot find a buyer willing to pay the required sums, a new negotiation window could open

FC Bayern do not want to loan Nübel out again

From Munich’s point of view, the situation remains clear. FC Bayern do not want to loan the goalkeeper out again, but are looking for a permanent solution. Whether this will take the form of a sale, a move abroad or – in a special scenario – via Stuttgart after all remains to be seen

For Nübel himself, it comes down to a fundamental decision. He wants to play as number one in the long term and not be put on hold again. The coming months are therefore likely to be decisive. One thing is certain: Alexander Nübel remains a hot topic – and VfB Stuttgart is still hoping for an unexpected turnaround in favour of a permanent stay.
