Italy captain Gigio Donnarumma earned praise from Italian media after another excellent Champions League performance against Arsenal: ‘Another show,’ wrote La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian captain inspired the French side’s victory with some crucial saves, especially one on Leandro Trossard in the second half.
“Another show, five saves, including two of them truly exceptional,” wrote La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Alessandro Grandesso.
“If having a world-class keeper is essential to winning, PSG surely have one.”

According to Gazzetta, Donnarumma was the MOTM at the Emirates Stadium last night, while UEFA gave the award to Gigio’s teammate João Neves. Sky Sport Italia also rated Donnarumma 8/10, just below Neves’ 8.5/10.
Tuttosport newspaper wrote on its Wednesday front page that Donnarumma was “super” against Arsenal last night.
Donnarumma has kept 11 clean sheets in 37 appearances with PSG this season, conceding 37 goals.
He’s been regularly picked as the Azzurri captain since the end of 2023 with Luciano Spalletti in charge.
A former Milan goalkeeper, Donnarumma has made 72 appearances with the Azzurri.
Donnarumma’s PSG contract expires in June 2026, but talks over a new deal have been ongoing for several months.
His agent Enzo Raiola spoke about Gigio’s transfer status at the beginning of the current campaign.
“[PSG director] Campos has said it publicly: He wants to keep Gigio, and we want to stay. I am proud that a player like him plays for one of the best clubs in the world. He is a leader of our national team, and he could be the same at PSG. I’d be glad.
“He has received criticism in the past, but he has accepted it. I found it excessive anyway,” said Raiola.
“I know his worth well. He is the best keeper in the world, and there aren’t many talents like him in Italy.”
