Dorival said the shortened Campeonato Paulista first phase has left Corinthians short of conditioning, and he hopes to add players.
According to Meu Timao, he spoke after Sunday’s Majestoso draw, noting a demanding start that has already included Red Bull Bragantino and São Paulo, with Santos next, all from Série A.
The coach argued there are no quick fixes, pointing out the squad are still regaining fitness after playing finals about 20 days ago. He suggested sustained consistency could come after roughly nine or 10 days of work.
To minimise problems, he said the staff are rotating the group, using one side midweek and another at the weekend. The aim is to avoid early injuries ahead of major competitions such as the Brasileiro.
He admitted the team are not fully conditioned yet and said rivals across the Paulistão are in a similar place, so he expects to live with some swings in these early matches.
Asked about signings, he refused to specify positions, stressing only that extra options would strengthen the group and help deliver a more regular campaign than last year.
Corinthians visit Santos on Thursday in the fourth round of the Paulista at Vila Belmiro, kick-off 19:30.
