Dortmund interested in young Real Madrid talent

Joan Martínez, 18, is making plenty of headlines. The young Real Madrid defender is on the radar of several European clubs, most notably Borussia Dortmund, according to The Athletic.

Real Madrid has great faith in him. When he extended his contract, the club set a release clause of around €70 million—an exceptionally high figure for a Castilla player. Martínez has yet to make an official first-team appearance, but he did take part in preseason matches against AC Milan and FC Barcelona this summer.

This season, he’s a regular starter for the reserve team in the third division and has already found the net once in 10 appearances. For now, Real has no intention of letting him go. His contract runs until 2029, and the club sees him as a future key player.
