Eliezer Mayenda’s Sunderland future is under fresh scrutiny after his agent’s social media hint, and Foot Mercato reports he is ‘expected to leave’ this summer.

His agent, Alfonso Stellitano, posted from the Stadium of Light with the caption “The Last Dance”, tagging Sunderland, Mayenda and the Premier League.

The report says ambitious European clubs are monitoring the 21-year-old, whose performances and trajectory have drawn attention after Sunderland’s historic Europa League qualification. With age, potential and Premier League exposure, he is viewed as an attacking prospect to watch.

Mayenda joined from Sochaux in 2023 and has made 73 appearances, scoring 12 goals. His breakthrough came in the 2024-25 promotion campaign, when he netted 10 in 42 outings across all competitions.

In 2025-26 he featured 23 times in all competitions, including 20 league outings, scoring two Premier League goals as Sunderland finished seventh. Not always a regular starter, his pace, versatility and work-rate made him a useful option for Régis Le Bris.

Sunderland are preparing for a significant summer as they balance Premier League and Europa League duties. Mayenda remains under contract, and his situation could be one to watch, with the club expected to protect their position if any exit materialises.
