According to L'Équipe, Manchester City and Nottingham Forest are moving towards an agreement for Elliot Anderson, with a fee likely to land around €150m.
City are in pole position, with their last bid of about €140m rejected, and talks edging towards Forest’s asking price near €150m.
Anderson, 23, an England international with 11 caps, has indicated he wants to join the Sky Blues, handing City a significant advantage.
If finalised at that level, the move could rank among the most expensive in the sport, potentially top five or even top three.
If the fee goes beyond €140m, he will become the most expensive midfielder in football history and could also surpass the Premier League record set by Liverpool with the €150m signing of Alexander Isak. A sale at that level would greatly help Forest, who finished 16th in the Premier League last season.
