English clubs are in serious jeopardy after bruising Champions League last-16 first legs, with none managing a win.
L'Équipe highlights that England were the best represented nation with six sides at this stage, yet the opening results have put progression in doubt.
Only Newcastle drew 1-1 with Barcelona on Tuesday, and Arsenal shared a 1-1 with Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday.
Chelsea lost 2-5 to Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City fell 0-3 to Real Madrid, and Tottenham were beaten 2-5 by Atlético de Madrid.
Liverpool were edged 0-1 by Galatasaray, and retain greater prospects before the second leg next week.
