PSG and Chelsea are set to clash Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey with the first-ever title of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup up for grabs.
The capital club booked a spot in the final in dominant fashion, scoring three times in the opening half-hour and cruising to a 4-0 win over Real Madrid. A late fourth goal capped a commanding performance against the Spanish side.
Chelsea punched their ticket with a hard-fought win over Fluminense, led by a João Pedro brace.
Already riding high after a treble-winning season and marquee victories in both the UEFA Champions League and Club World Cup, PSG head into Sunday’s final brimming with confidence under manager Luis Enrique.

Ahead of the final on Sunday, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca spoke with the media and spotlighted all the traits that make PSG the best team in European football right. Nonetheless, despite giving the Parisians their flowers, Maresca backs his team to give them a fight.
“I agree with most of the people when they say that they are the best team in Europe, the best team in the world,” Maresca said. “The reason why is because they are showing this.
“They’re showing it in France, they’re showing it in the Champions League, they are showing it in this competition. We have maximum respect for them. I said in my last press conference that I really enjoy watching them, but at the same time, we are here to try to do our best and to win the final.”
While Maresca has high respect for PSG, Chelsea defender Malo Gusto spoke to the club’s official website ahead of the final on Sunday and the Frenchman stated that manager Maresca will be key for this match if they want to lift the trophy. It will be interesting to see how this contest plays out.
