Mohamed Salah has stated that he believes Arsenal are the favourites to win the Premier League title this season, highlighting their remarkable consistency in recent years. While rival supporters have frequently mocked the Gunners for finishing as runners-up in three consecutive campaigns, Salah views those near-misses as evidence of a strong and stable squad that has remained largely intact for five years. To him, this continuity places Mikel Arteta’s side in an excellent position to finally lift the trophy at the end of the current season.
Arsenal have strengthened their squad during the latest transfer window, addressing weaknesses that previously undermined their title challenges. One of their most pressing issues had been the absence of a proven striker, a gap that many believed cost them the chance to move from second place into champions’ territory.
That void has now been filled with the arrival of Viktor Gyökeres, whose prolific form at Sporting Club established him as one of Europe’s most reliable forwards. His ability to convert chances could provide the decisive edge Arsenal require, transforming them from consistent challengers into genuine winners. Arteta will be determined to ensure that the problems which derailed past campaigns do not resurface, and that this season’s squad is better equipped to go the distance.

Although Salah is focused on helping Liverpool defend their crown, he has openly acknowledged the strength of Arsenal’s challenge. As quoted by the Daily Mail, he remarked, “I think you have a great team this season as you did last season. You have really good chance. I think you are the favourite now because you players who have been together for five years. I can’t say I’ll wish you luck, hopefully we do it again.”
His comments underline a growing recognition across the footballing world that Arsenal’s steady progress has built a foundation capable of producing success. With stability, squad depth and attacking reinforcements now in place, they appear well-positioned to convert years of near misses into triumph.
For Arsenal, the objective remains clear: turn consistency into silverware. As Salah’s words suggest, this could finally be the season when the Gunners transform potential into glory.
