QPR have confirmed the departure of former PEC Zwolle star Kenneth Paal. The left-back has spent the last three seasons with the Championship side, but will part ways following the expiry of his contract. Paal played 130 times across all competitions for QPR, solidifying his status as a crucial player for the R’s.
Kenneth Paal’s departure will likely put several Eredivisie sides on alert, with the Suriname international previously playing over 100 games in the Dutch top-flight for the likes of PEC Zwolle and PSV Eindhoven. The 27-year-old predominantly plays as a full-back, but also has plenty of experience playing in the centre of midfield.
Paal penned a statement to QPR supporters following the announcement of his departure on Tuesday: “From day one, I enjoyed every moment. The people at the club as well as my team-mates helped me and my family, and I will always be thankful. There were tough moments but my time with QPR made me a better person and a better player. I became a father here and my little one was born in London, so this will always be a special place and time for me. It was a life-changing period.”
