Judging from his two performances for Norway Haaland is set to return to the world champions in ominous form. That is welcome news for Manchester City as they face a tough run of fixtures starting this weekend with a tricky Premier League clash against Tottenham.

Erling Haaland scored a hat trick in Norway’s emphatic 5-nil win over Kazakhstan. Norway’s win saw them seal promotion to the top flight of the UEFA Nations League. Haaland was front and centre of Norway’s win with his hat trick. Haaland’s hat trick for his country was his third of the season after his hat tricks against Ipswich Town and West Ham for Manchester City earlier this season.

But more importantly, from a Manchester City point of view, their star striker returns from international duty in ominous form. His two performances for Norway over the international break showcased the best of Haaland’s game. Haaland’s performance against Slovenia showcased the evolution of his game. With his hat trick against Kazakhstan, he showed what he does best. That’s score goals. Erling Haaland does that better than anyone and he will return to Manchester full of confidence after his international duty.

Manchester City need Erling Haaland at his best starting this weekend at the Etihad against Tottenham. The cfour-gamewill be looking to halt a four game losing run against Ange Postecoglou’s side. To do that they’ll need Haaland and his teammates at their best. Based on Haaland’s performances over the international break he is in sparkling form. The hope is that he can carry that form over to his club duties with the world champions. If he does he may be able to fire Manchester City back into form starting this weekend.
