Championship promotion hopefuls Wrexham AFC have submitted a bid for Barnsley attacker Davis Keillor-Dunn. Football League World understands
An intriguing finale to the mid-season transfer window awaits Wrexham AFC ahead of next week's February 2 deadline, with the Red Dragons eager to further flex their financial muscles and embolden the club's promotion ambitions - and Football League World can exclusively reveal an important development in one of numerous player pursuits
Wrexham are yet to secure any additions in this month's window after bringing in 13 fresh recruits throughout the previous summer following a third successive promotion to the Championship and departures have been sanctioned instead, as both James McClean and Andy Cannon have departed the SToK Cae Ras and Conor Coady is closing in on a loan move to Charlton Athletic.
The Red Dragons will be hoping to leverage their improving league form to convince prospective new signings on a switch to North Wales, with Phil Parkinson's side now occupying sixth place following Saturday afternoon's dramatic 3-2 victory over QPR as they eye a first-ever promotion to the Premier League.
Indeed, Parkinson himself reportedly travelled to France in order to watch high-profile striker target Sidiki Cherif in action for Angers against Paris FC amid reports of a stunning £19 million bid being lodged, while they have also been linked with the likes of Southampton talisman Adam Armstrong, Yan Valery of Sheffield Wednesday and, most recently, Ipswich Town forward Sammie Szmodics.
Earlier this month, meanwhile, Football League World exclusively revealed interest from both Wrexham and fellow top-six hopefuls Bristol City in a move for in-demand Barnsley starlet Davis Keillor-Dunn.
That deal could now be set to progress, with FLW learning of a significant development in Wrexham's efforts.

FLW can reveal that Wrexham have followed up their interest with an official bid for Keillor-Dunn with less than a week remaining of the current window, with the forward's future at Oakwell continuing to come into question.
For the time being, at least, the exact details of the bid and whether it will be deemed acceptable by the powers that be in South Yorkshire are both unclear, though sources disclosed to FLW at the start of January that Barnsley are willing to sell Keillor-Dunn at the right price.
The 28-year-old has not been short of interest in recent times, with reports elsewhere claiming that the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough and Preston North End have all been monitoring his situation.
Wrexham, of course, have the financial power to make a deal happen should they see fit, meaning that it would be no surprise to see a move for Keillor-Dunn edge closer to completion in the coming days.
Continued interest in Keillor-Dunn's signature comes amid yet another eye-catching campaign in League One, with the versatile attacker having scored 11 goals and counting from just 23 divisional appearances for the Tykes at the time of writing.

Keillor-Dunn recorded 19 strikes and seven assists across all competitions during his debut season at Barnsley after joining from Mansfield Town, including a goal in his side's 2-1 win over Wrexham on New Year's Day.
With Barnsley continuing to struggle for consistency in mid-table, however, there is a developing feeling that Keillor-Dunn has simply outgrown the side at this stage of his career and supporters are becoming increasingly convinced that he may make the jump into the Championship without them.
