Liverpool are already moving quickly to correct what has been a disastrous title defence by Arne Slot’s side. The Reds sit 5th in the Premier League table heading into the final game of the season.
Both Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson have confirmed their plans to leave the club, whilst the likes of Alisson Becker, Joe Gomez and Curtis Jones could follow them out of the door.
In response, Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet will arrive once the window opens for a fee worth in the region of £60m.
But now, Liverpool are focusing on attacking options…
RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande has been one of the names heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer, to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah. The 19-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in the Bundesliga, scoring thirteen goals and assisting ten.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano provided a massive update.
“Liverpool are in active talks with the agency of Yan Diomande,” Romano said.
“But Liverpool are not alone. PSG, as I said in January, are also in the conversation. Manchester United were interested but have already informed Diomande’s agents that they will not spend €100m+ this summer. It is considered too expensive,” continued Romano.
“Now, Liverpool are in conversations with Diomande, and PSG too. It is the player who needs to decide what he wants to do.”
Despite his impressive performances this season, €100m remains a huge fee to spend on a player after one breakthrough season. But Diomande’s potential is clear and he could become an absolute superstar at Anfield.
This is certainly one to keep an eye on as the transfer window draws close. David Ornstein has already reported that Liverpool are in a ‘strong position’ to move for Diomande. Let’s wait and see…
